There are few things in life better than a good sandwich. Whether you are looking for a lunch break from classes or from walking around the city all day, these sandwiches are sure to fill you up and make your taste buds smile. In these low-key environments, ordering food is also a great way to learn the Italian language.
Un Caffé
Via Cesare Battisti, 2, 50121 Firenze
Un Caffé is located in Piazza della Santissima Annunziata – a short walk from San Marco. Here, you will find a fast-paced atmosphere with a friendly staff. This cute restaurant has a great menu to select from. The sandwiches are pretty big. You can easily share with a friend, or save half for later! There is also an option to purchase a half a sandwich.
Panbriaco
Via Faenza, 13, 50121 Firenze
Close the Marist Office and LdM classrooms, Panbriaco is one of our favorite sandwich places. This narrow sandwich shop offers a variety of options served on warm focaccia bread. If you’re indecisive, ask for suggestions! For the student discount, choose a meat, a cheese, and one topping. Or, try a delicious option from the menu!
SandwiChic
Via San Gallo, 3, 50129 Firenze
Another tiny spot to get great sandwiches. It is a popular spot for students and locals, so the inside gets a little crowded at times. The sandwich creators take their job seriously, wearing bowties as they carefully construct your sandwich. Great place to grab a sandwich on your way to class, or on your way home from class.
All’Antico Vinaio
Via dei Neri, 74/R, 50100 Firenze
Don’t let the lines at All’Antico deter you from trying a sandwich here. They are truly worth the wait. If you’re sightseeing or being a tourist for the day, revive your energy with an amazing sandwich. Try one of the specialty sandwiches if you’re looking for something new.
Fo’ Caccia la Notte
Via Giuseppe Verdi, 43/R, 50053 Firenze
If you find yourself in the Santa Croce neighborhood, try Fo’ Caccia la Notte. This corner spot has a cozy feel, but not uncomfortable. You can order from the window and walk around with your sandwich or take a moment to sit and enjoy the view of Santa Croce. Also, if you are a fan of spicy, try the picante sauce!
Other popular spots our students like:
Nobile/Piazza di Madonna degli Aldobrandini, 13, 50123 Firenze
I Due Fratellini/Via dei Cimatori 38/r, 50122 Firenze
