One of the things I miss the most about being home is going to brunch with my friends. Most of the time, an Italian breakfast consists of nothing more than a coffee and a small pastry. Do not get me wrong, I love that combination! However, after a long week of studying and having quick breakfasts, a nice big brunch is needed some weekends. Here are some brunch spots you can try while you study abroad in Florence!
The Diner
“All that you would expect from a real Diner in the States, but located in the center of Florence” –The Diner Firenze. Located at Via dell’Acqua 2, open from 9:00 am to 11:00 pm. The diner is unique from other brunch spots because it offers brunch all day! If you wake up late from a long study night the diner will be your best shot. But you know what truly is the best about this place? They have ice, ranch, and free water! I know it sounds silly but most of the Italian restaurants don’t offer this which is something people from the States are used to.
For more information you can visit their website where they have the full menu.

Momio Firenze (Cafeteria)
“Vintage, casual, and convivial”- Momio Firenze
This cafeteria offers brunch and afternoon tea. Brunch is Tuesday-Friday 9:00 am to 4:00 pm and Saturday and Sunday 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Located at Via Pisana 9c. Afternoon tea is by reservation only. The Momio brunch offers three types of omelettes: spinach and prawns, mushroom and ham, and mozzarella and spinach. They also have eggs benedict, eggs royale and eggs Florentine all with yuzu hollandaise. For a lighter option they offer yogurt with granola and fruit.

Le Vespe Café
Brunch is served daily from 9:00 am- 3:30 pm. Le Vespe Café located at Via Ghibellina 76R, is my personal favorite. Why? Because they offer the most amazing breakfast burrito that I have had away from home. They also have hot sauce and chipotle which is a plus. They have a great variety of freshly squeezed juices, milkshakes, breakfast combos, Frappuccino and iced coffee. On the weekends it gets crowded so keep in my mind that there will be at least a 30 minute wait for seats.
