Midterms are just a couple of weeks away and we’re all trying to find time to sit down and get some studying done. Florence is such a busy city; where are we going to find a good place for some peace and quiet when we want a reprieve from our familiar rooms?
Here are some great suggestions for cozy cafes and bright bookstores that may just be the perfect studying spot for you:
Todo Modo
While unassuming on the outside, the moment you step through the doors of this bookstore, you’ll be transported into the beautiful world of Todo Modo where colorful books and stationery line every wall. In the back, almost hidden, is a large room with more than enough seats to settle down and open your textbooks. And with the wine bar inside providing delicious drinks and snacks, you won’t have to worry about any cravings you’ll get while in the zone.

La Feltrinelli Book Store
Not far from the Marist Italy office, this popular three-story bookstore is a bright and open space perfect for students who need some space. La Feltrinelli offers about every genre of book you can think of, and even has an English and international book section! While there are limited places to sit, there is free Wi-Fi so it’s perfect for getting work done on your laptop.

La Cite
When I think of an ideal European study abroad experience, it looks a lot like this wonderfully decorated café across the river. With the smell of delicious food and pastries in the air and the well-stocked bookshelves in the corners, it’s no wonder La Cite is so popular with students. Enjoy their delicious food, comfy seating, and free Wi-Fi while you study away.

The Marist Italy offices are also open as an alternative if you need somewhere to charge your devices or look through a great selection of reading. The LDM library is right next door if you ever need a more expanded selection of resources.
