For the second time this academic year, President Kevin Weinman has visited our Marist Italy Campus! During the first semester, he visited Florence as part of his Marist 100 project to reach out to the many students taking part in our school’s study abroad programs. He’s back again to welcome the new students here for the semester (Marist Abroad Program-MAP), and to say hello to the familiar faces of our FFE and four-year Florence Bachelor students (BDP).
All students were invited to a delicious sit-down dinner at the opulent Palazzo Borghese, hosted and planned by our Marist Italy team, to meet with President Weinman. BDP students were treated to a breakfast with President Weinman on Monday morning and FFE students on Tuesday morning. Both breakfasts were held at Both breakfasts were held at the popular bistro La Ménagère.
During these breakfasts, President Weinman hopped between tables making sure to greet every student. I was lucky enough to attend the FFE gathering and spoke to President Weinman about his visits to Florence. He explained that he tries to visit once a semester, as well as at the end of the year for the Bachelor students’ commencement and graduation ceremony. He likes to visit the Marist Italy office and sit in on a few of our classes to understand if there’s anything that can be changed or improved. Making sure the students of Marist Italy have a valuable experience, both in terms of living abroad and getting a great education, is a priority.
