My dad was always the chef in our family; he came from a Sicilian household where they cooked dinner every night. Although this recipe that he perfected is not necessarily Sicilian, the mindset of cooking with family originates from his childhood and is strong when this dish is being made.

The recipe in question is hot Barbeque shredded chicken sandwiches, my sister and I would claw at each other to get the last bite of this stuff. Whenever this was made it was almost like a race to eat your first sandwich as fast as you could so that you could immediately scarf down another one.
Ingredients:
- Hamburger buns
- Barbeque sauce
- Red pepper flakes
- Paprika
- Chicken

Steps:
- Step number one is fill a big pot full of the Barbeque sauce of your choosing. Add red pepper flakes and paprika, for some heat.
- Step two is stir continuously as to not burn the sauce against the pot, and raise the heat gradually.
- Step three is once your bbq sauce is super duper hot and is bubbling, add a bunch of chicken, as much as you can while still submerging every piece into that brown gold.
- Step four is SHRED the chicken to the best of your ability using two forks. you will create terrible screeching noises as these metal objects scratch against each other, this will cause your roommates to yell at you, but they will soon be happy once they eat this fine creation.
- Step five is to toast your hamburger buns to perfection, be careful as to not burn the buns or your evil roommates will yell at you more and you will be the one eating the burnt sandwich.
- Step six is assemble the perfect sandwich, bask in the glory of your patriotic dish. This is the American dream.
- Step seven is to taunt your roommates with this sandwich and recite over and over how you are the “iron chef”. After a couple minutes of taunting give them the sandwiches and feel the adrenaline of a million chefs coursing through your veins.
- Step eight is to never cook anything for your roommates ever again.
