Travel photo log: Prague

By Alice Adams

One of the perks of studying in Europe is the opportunity to take advantage of its snugly packed array of lovely destinations. Lucky me; I spent the first few days of October break in the City of a Hundred Spires. Prague is situated where the tides of Western Europe crash into those of the East; culture and architecture meet in a love story of castles, color, and bridges here in the Czech Republic. This is combined with a complicated history stretching back several thousand years; the city houses remnants of the Medieval era, and still carries the scars of recent conflicts, including participation in the First World War and occupation during the Second.

Highlighted below are views from the Vltava River and Prague Castle, the medieval Astronomical Clock, the people passing through, and a breath of peace in the city’s parks and riversides. It is a city rich in its language, food, art, and intellect, and for photographers, it is a kiss of beauty.
